DB SCHENKER TO USE FIRST MAN ETRUCKS FROM 2024 ONWARDS
The new electric heavy-duty truck from MAN is already seeing high demand a year before the start of production. The international logistics company DB Schenker and the commercial vehicle manufacturer MAN Truck & Bus have now signed an agreement to integrate for the first time the new MAN eTruck. DB Schenker is thus driving forward the electrification of its fleet and road freight transport. The company plans to add 100 new MAN eTrucks to its fleet by 2026. The first vehicles are to be handed over in the first half of 2024.
Resource-saving battery use and recycling
MAN Truck & Bus sees the greatest potential for climate-friendly drives in battery electric drives.
And although the market for electrically driven city buses and, in future, also trucks is only just developing in Europe, MAN is already working on the post-usage strategy for its batteries. The aim is to extend the life of the batteries in the first step and, if this is no longer possible, to recycle the raw materials contained in them.
MAN eMobility Center: Successful first year in the run-up to the large-series electric truck
Preparations for large-scale production of electric trucks from Munich are on track: In the first 12 months since the innovative eMobility Center was established at its main plant, MAN Truck & Bus has rolled out 20 prototypes of the upcoming heavy-duty eTruck, testing future mixed series production with conventional trucks under real-life conditions.
Electrifying Europe Tour.
Ten electrifying days are behind it: The MAN Lion's City 12 E - pioneer of MAN's zero-emission strategy - has reliably completed a journey of around 2,500 kilometers through eight European countries.
MAN and ABB E-mobility rev up for the next phase of e-mobility in long-haul trucking.
To enable long-distance daily ranges between 600 and 800 kilometres, the MAN electric truck, due to be launched in 2024, is already equipped with the technical prerequisites for future megawatt charging systems. ABB E-mobility, as a leading global provider of charging solutions, intends to bring such charging systems to market quickly.
A BIG STEP TOWARDS ZERO EMISSIONS
MAN Truck & Bus is stepping up the pace in the transition to zero-emission commercial vehicles: production of heavy-duty eTrucks in Munich will start as early as the beginning of 2024.
